Ever wanted to surf the net but didn't have a modem on your computer? You don't really need a modem to be able to surf the net, you can simply use your cell phone as a modem. HOW? This short tutorial will teach how to set your phone as a modem connected to your computer/laptop.

Frist is frist.

1.You need a cell phone.

2.It has to have gprs and it must be modem enabled

3.You need a means of connection from your cell phone to your computer or laptop (infra-red, bluetooth or usb cable)

4.You need a dialup connection

5.You need to know and change your proxey settings

This is how to go about it:

Step 1:Take your gprs enabled cell phone and connect it to your computer or laptop using either buletooth,infered or a usb cable.

Step 2:Create a dial up connection.Go into yor control panel, then into internet options.Then go to connections and add.Create a dial up connection and when it asks for a phone number type in *99#

Step 3:On your new dialup connection add the same proxy address you have on your gprs in your cell phone.

Step 4:Now on your control panel there should be something called modem options (If your 's doesn't have you'll have to search your computer for an option that allows you to change the acess point name or also known as the APN) here you must change the APN to w£ver your APN is on yor gprs in your phone.

Step 5:Go to start menu and connect,then connect to your dial up (make sure your cell phone is connected to your computer or laptop)

Step 6:Start your browser (internet exploxer,opera etc) and start surfing the net.

Note that every cell phone has it's own speed for example 3g phones can reach up to speed's of 48 kb/s.

s40 users popularly known as java phone user's We are going to be Learning more about Modding, but 1 st lets take a look at the subject of the matter: 'OPERAMINI'. Sum still don't know that modding with an s40 phone is possible; well, lets make something out   of our phone and see for ourselves! ::::::::::TUTORIAL STARTS:::::::::: EXTRACT FILES IN ZIP ARCHIVE Use BlueFTP to extract all the files in the zip   archive. Process=> Open BlueFTP, then locate click on   d zip file (OperaMini.zip) to open. Select all   files using #key or *key! Next, Press(1)  to copy selected   items>>Create a new folder>>Press(3)  to   paste already copied items --- EDITING THE NAME/DETAILS Requirements:- Class Editor or MobyExplorer... Using Class Editor Browse thru ur files nd locate d the NEW   FOLDER u pasted the files u Unzip.. U always   found a folder named

'META-INF' click enter   and also found a file inside d folder called ' MAINFEST.MF. Here u'll notice sum details worth changing/ editing, like Midlet Name, Midlet description... etc. Edit d titles/names given, to ur taste and   leave d headings - but b carefull not 2  edit d   wrong part. Then save! Do the same in the case of MobyExplorer......

TRANSLATE.CLASS FILES, Requirement: Class Translator Mak use of this class translator to edit other. class like: Browser.class, HandlerU1. class, e.t.c :In here   u'll find d custom server and sum relevant   notes, just edit it 2  ur taste. USE A SOFTWARE FOREVER

When the trial software is due:

(1)uninstall the software.

(2)delete the software folder in local disk>program files>the software folder (i.e changer xp)

(3)click on windows then type 'REGEDIT' in RUN.

locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER click on the arrow.it will open its subkey then locate SOFTWARE. click on its arrow and it will open a list of all software installed in your computer.

(4)locate the software with the trial software folder....then delete it.

(5)install the software again .........THATS IS ALL..ENJOY!!!

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0”. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

Procedure 1

1. pair both devices
2. open your blueftp and connect to the phone.

1. open your modem interface
2. click on tools and select options
3. general > tick RAS(modem)
4. select profile management
5. click on new
6. profile name: name it anything eg. 'fattylee etisalat'.
7. tick static, then input 'blackberry.net'.
8. access number '*99#'. just save the setting and click on ok.
9. from your connection interface select the newly created  profile and connect.

browser settings

1. open your browser
2. select firefox at the top left corner of your browser
3. click on options > options
4. advanced > network > settings
5. manual proxy configuration
6. http proxy: input '10.71.170.5' and port '8080'
7. tick 'use this proxy server for all protocol'. ok..ok...
